Our Services

At MLP Optometry, we offer a wide variety of care from award-winning staff. We are here to meet your eye care needs.

Comprehensive Eye Exam

Our comprehensive eye exams consist of two things – the health evaluation and the refraction. During the health evaluation, we will check for any sign of disease in the eye such as cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, or retinal disease. We can either do this using dilation drops and a slit lamp evaluation, or we have an instrument called an Optomap. The Optomap is an instrument we use to take a photo of the back of the eye in lieu of dilating. We see the same information using this method as the dilation, and we also keep this photo in your file with us to look back on. During the refraction, we find the prescription your eyes need. We will give you your prescription at the end of your exam so if you are in need of glasses, you can get that filled right away.

Pediatric Evaluation

We love to see kids of all ages to get them started on their vision journey! School vision screenings are not the same as a comprehensive eye exam with a licensed optometrist. Children are not born knowing how to see. They learn how to see. Making sure your child’s visual skills are developing appropriately is what Dr. Lepinski and Dr. Koenders specialize in.

Medical Office Visit

Medical office visits can be used for a multitude of different things: Dry eye, redness, injuries, infections, or foreign objects in the eyes. We will assess any problems you are having and together, we will come up with a treatment plan which may include prescribed medications, follow-up appointments, or other care if needed to best help you.

Diabetic Exams

During your diabetic eye exam, we will check for signs of any problems with your vision or the health of your eyes due to your Diabetes. If found early enough, these problems often can be fixed with treatment. Diabetes is a disease that affects the lining of the blood vessels due to sugar fluctuations. In an eye exam the doctor is looking directly at these blood vessels. We can see if there are changes to the blood vessels in a dilated eye exam. The doctors also send a letter to your primary care doctor with any notes or concerns with your comprehensive exam, so they will be able to continue their care with you knowing things were thoroughly examined.

Glaucoma Evaluation

During our glaucoma evaluations, we will do a few different tests to check the severity of your glaucoma. A typical glaucoma workup includes a visual field test, a nerve scan, determining the thickness of your cornea and checking the pressure of your eyes. All of these tests are non-invasive and involve different types of photo scan.  The visual field is a test to check if you have any blind spots in your vision
