About Us

Dr. Miranda Lepinski was born and raised in Buffalo, Minnesota. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, MN. Immediately following completion of her undergraduate degree, she went on to attend optometry school at Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, AZ.  She is the current co-chair of the Minnesota Young Optometrist committee and actively participates in Minnesota’s state association for optometry. She was named Minnesota's Young OD of the Year for 2021.

Dr. Lepinski currently lives in Monticello with her husband. She enjoys Minnesota summers by boating, swimming, and generally being active outside and especially at the lake. In the wintertime, she enjoys cross-country skiing and focusing on family throughout the holiday season.

She would love to spend time getting to know you during your visit to MLP Optometry, located in St. Cloud Costco and making sure that you and your children’s visual needs are met.

Dr. Kylie Jacobson grew up in Monticello, MN. After attending college locally, she moved to Boston to attend Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She returned home to be closer to friends and family. She lives in Saint Michael with her husband, two kids, and two dogs.

Dr. Claire Skorseth grew up in Milaca, MN. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Bethel University in St. Paul. She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago as valedictorian and completed a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the Capt. James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.

Dr. Skorseth currently lives in Rogers with her husband and spends her free time with her family and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Bella and Luna. She enjoys helping her patients see the world more clearly and looks forward to providing excellent eye care at MLP Optometry.

Dr. Laurel Schimelfening was born in Hettinger, ND but has lived in many of the Great Plains states. She graduated from University of South Dakota with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology for her undergraduate and Pacific University in 2018 with a Doctorate of Optometry and a concurrent Masters of Education in Vision Functional Learning.

Dr. Laurel previously practiced optometry in Montana prior to moving closer to her family in Minnesota. She loves to work with all ages of families, especially pediatric populations! Her special interests also include managing patients with visual symptoms as a result of traumatic and acquired brain injury. In her free time, Dr. Laurel loves to spend time with her husband, two children and dog traveling, camping, cross stitching and baking delicious treats.

Dr. Alyssa Richard earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hamline University in St. Paul, where she also competed on the university’s dance team. She later moved to the Appalachian mountains (and yes—she learned quickly how to pronounce it: app-uh-LATCH-in) to attend the Kentucky College of Optometry, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree.

Originally from Monticello, Dr. Richard gives back to her hometown as an assistant coach for the Monticello High School dance team. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, fishing year-round, spending time with friends, family, and her cat Beans, and cheering on the Minnesota Wild every chance she gets.
